Rosarubra is a biological and biodynamic estate located in Pietranico. An oasis of 30 hectares valorized by a territory with a wonderful soil where the environment itself is a nature-created nest that protects and safeguards biodiversity.
The Rosarubra estate produces high quality wines with biological techniques in full respect of nature. To ten years of organic certification has been added in recent years Demeter's biodynamic certification, the principle and purpose of which is to recover fertility of the soil as it was originally.
Rosarubra estate has its incredible success first and foremost with the choice of land: the Pietranico area has been cultivated since ancient times because it has a perfect predisposition for this production.
For example, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo has been in the area since time immemorial, to the point that Pietranico is precisely the starting point for its spread throughout the region.
In Abruzzo today, native, national and international vines breed. Starting from Montepulciano, the reference grape of the DOC Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, continuing with the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, which gives rise to the homonymous DOC, and then the native Pecorino and other protagonists of our wine history such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon Or the Merlot.
The land area ranges from 330 to 420 meters, with a convex amphitheater facing north: sunshine is present everywhere but always mitigated by moderate slope, varying from ten to twenty percent north and northeast. An artificial reservoir, at the center of the seal, guarantees a water reserve (partly rain and partly vein) of about two thousand cubic meters, integrated by wells, allowing drop-watering when needed. A second basin, on the bottom valley, intercepts the need part of a drainage stream in the vast part of the west valley.
